Walking the coast path from Saundersfoot
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs for 186 miles through Britain's only coastal National Park, and Saundersfoot is one of the best places to join it. From Broadfield you can walk to the sea, follow the path along the coast, and catch the bus back from the park entrance.

- 186 miles of coast path
- Open to dogs all year
- Bus back from Amroth or Wiseman's Bridge
From your pitch to the path
Saundersfoot beach is about a 23 minute walk along the main road, or about a 10 minute walk through Saundersfoot Bay woods down to Glen Beach.
From Glen Beach or the village you are on the coast path straight away.
North: Coppet Hall, Wiseman's Bridge and Amroth
North of Saundersfoot the path follows the old tramway to Coppet Hall, then through its tunnels towards Wiseman's Bridge, and on to Amroth, each an easy walk from the last. It is the gentler direction, good for families, with beaches all the way.
Amroth is where the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins, or ends, depending on which way you walk it. Colby Woodland Garden, a National Trust garden, is close by if you want to add a walk under the trees.
South: over the cliffs towards Tenby
South of Saundersfoot the path climbs over the cliffs towards Tenby. It is the hillier direction, with big views across Carmarthen Bay. Finish in Tenby's harbour streets and take the bus back.
Walk one way, bus back
The 351 runs from the stop at the park entrance to Tenby one way, and to Saundersfoot, Wiseman's Bridge, Amroth and Pendine the other. The 381 links Tenby and Saundersfoot with Kilgetty, Folly Farm, Narberth and Haverfordwest. In summer the open-top Tenby Coaster stops at Broadfield Hill too. Times change with the season, so check the live times before you set off.
So you can walk to Amroth or Wiseman's Bridge, or into Tenby, and ride back to Broadfield Hill without retracing your steps.
Before you set off
- Check the tide times, especially around Coppet Hall and Wiseman's Bridge.
- Look for path notices. Sections can close for repairs.
- Wear proper walking shoes. The cliff sections can be muddy after rain.
- Keep dogs close on the cliff tops and near livestock.
- Check the bus times on the day, as they change with the season.
Come back to Broadfield
After a day on the path, Jan'z Restaurant and BB's Bar are a short walk from your pitch. The showers are open 24 hours. Grass pitches suit tents, touring caravans and campervans, and motorhomes can book our gravel hardstanding, each with a 10 amp hook-up.
