Dogs at Broadfield

Dogs stay free at Broadfield, on any pitch. Keep them on a lead around the park and clean up after them. Dogs aren't allowed in the toilet and shower block.

There is nothing extra to add when you book. Any pitch suits a dog, whether you come with a tent, a touring caravan, a campervan or a motorhome.

A morning walk to the sea

Saundersfoot beach is about a 23 minute walk along the main road, or about a 10 minute walk through Saundersfoot Bay woods down to Glen Beach.

The woods are the nicer way for a dog: off the road, under the trees, and down to the sand.

The coast path

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs from Saundersfoot in both directions, and it is open to dogs all year. North, it goes to Coppet Hall, Wiseman's Bridge and Amroth, each an easy walk from the last, partly along the old tramway and through its tunnels. South, it climbs over the cliffs towards Tenby.

Keep your dog close on the cliff tops and near livestock. Fields along the path can have sheep or cattle in them.

Dogs on the beaches

Some beaches limit dogs on part of the sand in the summer months, and the rules differ from beach to beach. The signs at each beach say where dogs can go, so check before you go. Out of the summer months, most beaches are easier with a dog.

Lunch or supper with the dog

Jan'z Restaurant and BB's Bar, on the park, is fully dog friendly: dogs are welcome inside the restaurant and the bar, Sunday lunch included, and outside too. After a long walk on the coast path, supper is a short stroll from your pitch.

Other ideas

  • Colby Woodland Garden, a National Trust garden near Amroth, for a quieter walk away from the beach. Check its rules for dogs before you go.
  • Tenby's harbour streets, best early or late in the day in summer when it is quieter.
  • Saundersfoot harbour, a short walk from the beach.
